10 Wrestling Reboots More Famous Than The Original

7. Mr. McMahon (Eric Bischoff)

Mr McMahon, the on-screen alter-ego of WWE chairman Vince (who is definitely completely different in real life), is indisputably the most famous non-wrestling wrestling character of all. How could he not be, after years warring with Stone Cold in the Attitude Era?

But most wrestling historians agree that the idea of an underhanded, yellow-bellied authority figure came not from his own brain, but from the show across town that was kicking his company's ass in the ratings war.

This theory makes a lot of sense too. Eric Bischoff was drawing heat on Nitro a good few months before friction with Bret Hart and, ultimately, the Montreal Screwjob, forced Vince to leave the commentary desk for good.

It's not like Bischoff didn't achieve great success in the role either. That clip of him being confronted by a debuting Kevin Nash is the stuff of legend, and not just because the latter confuses the word "play" for an adjective. He was huge - just nowhere near as huge as his WWE counterpart. He was Saturn to Vince's Jupiter.
