10 Wrestling Reboots More Famous Than The Original
6. NXT (...NXT)
In 2018, NXT is synonymous (as it should be) with brilliant wrestling. It's effectively WWE's third brand, a breeding ground for the stars of tomorrow, where fans can watch some of the best up-and-comers in the business strut their stuff completely unshackled.
Rewind eight years, however, and it meant something very different. The original NXT format was more in the tradition of a Tough Enough talent search, with indie newcomers each assigned a main roster mentor.
The show had its critics, but if nothing else it helped introduce some pretty good wrestlers to our screens, namely Wade Barrett and Daniel Bryan, the latter of whom was mentored by The Miz, in what seemed like a blatant attempt to piss off internet fans.
That said, there's no doubt about which variation of NXT we'll all be talking about in 10 years' time. Actually, there's a very good chance NXT will still be around in its current guise in 2028 - which tells you everything you need to know.
