10 Wrestling Returns That Would Improve WWE TV

Everyone and their granny knew this one was coming.

As he's busy trying to become a credible MMA fighter in UFC, the thought of CM Punk returning to pro wrestling (let alone a company he left on bad terms over four years ago) any time soon is frankly inconceivable. At the same time, his recent defeat to Mike Jackson at UFC 225 and Dana White's comments afterwards make another fight unlikely.

At his height in WWE, Punk lived up to his "Best In The World" nickname. One of the earliest indy darlings to make a dent in WWE's consciousness, he paved the way for everyone from Daniel Bryan and AJ Styles to Samoa Joe, Aleister Black and Seth Rollins in the company.

Without Punk's unerring confidence and belief in his abilities, WWE may never have realised that hey, there's a whole world of wrestling out there that could make some serious cash if it was properly promoted under their banner.

Seeing him back in WWE seems ludicrous given all that has happened, including his recent courtroom victory over WWE doctor Chris Amann, but it's not impossible once enough time has passed. Stranger things have happened, and he'd get the hardcores hot under the collar just by showing up.
