10 Wrestling Returns That Would Improve WWE TV

9. Rey Mysterio

After much conjecture about a full-time WWE run for the masked man, Rey Mysterio has popped up in New Japan Pro Wrestling lately. Further dispelling speculation that he'll land back under the McMahon umbrella, Rey is also making appearances for Mexican outfit AAA this summer.

As sweet (and no doubt lucrative) as those gigs are, we'd love to see him back in WWE.

Mysterio isn't the same wounded warrior he was towards the end of his last full-time run in the promotion around three years ago. In tremendous physical shape despite nagging injuries, the legend would be a credit to either 205 Live's Cruiserweight division or a higher profile role on SmackDown mixing it with AJ Styles, Daniel Bryan and more.

Matches like Mysterio vs. Finn Bálor, Seth Rollins or even giants such as Braun Strowman on Raw are mouth-watering prospects. Back when he gate-crashed January's Royal Rumble and April's Greatest variation, Rey's return seemed so close to happening.

Simply put, it has to.
