10 Wrestling Returns We Marked Out For

2. Brock Lesnar

As soon as Brock Lesnar retired from UFC, we were all hoping that he would make a return to WWE. It seemed incredibly unlikely due to the heat he incurred from Vince McMahon over leaving, but perhaps time (and a lot of money) would heal that wound.

After seven years away from professional wrestling, he was set to make his return the night after WrestleMania 28. Fans had heard the rumors that he was in town for Raw, and they began to grow increasingly restless as the night went on. By the end of the show, the chants for him were so loud that John Cena had to acknowledge them in his promo.

And then, the music hit. That powerful, distinct guitar wail rang throughout the arena, which meant the s**t was about to go down. The crowd erupted, and it was probably the loudest pop of all 2011. While Cena had just been beaten the night before by The Rock, fans weren’t done seeing him get his a** kicked yet.

Brock was always a man of few words, so he simply shook Cena’s hands, lifted him up over his shoulder and gave him an F5 that was seven years in the making. For anyone who had watched Brock as an active wrestler, and had to wait all that time to see him return, it would have been nearly impossible not to have marked out over that incredible moment.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
