10 Wrestling Returns We Marked Out For
10. Ultimate Warrior
We all know that Ultimate Warrior said a lot of pretty hurtful and ugly things during his life. He also had an acrimonious relationship with Vince McMahon, one that seemed would never be healed. But time (and a lot of money) can heal all wounds, and so Warrior found his way back into the good graces of his former employer.
We had not seen Warrior on Raw since 1996. He only lasted a few short months in the company, and then he went off to have a disastrous run in WCW. Still, he instilled a sense of childlike wonder in fans that few wrestlers ever have. We still remembered him as the unstoppable, colorful, larger-than-life figure from the early ‘90s, and wanted to see that version of the man once again grace our screens.
The night after accepting his Hall of Fame induction in 2014, Warrior made one more (and final) appearance on Monday Night Raw. Hell had truly frozen over. He came out dressed in a black trenchcoat and a suit; so while he no longer looked like a super hero, it was simply incredible to see him back.
The promo was a bit off (as we soon found out, he was less than 24 hours away from dying), but the emotion was genuine. He seemed humbled that after all these years fans still remembered him and were chanting his name. For that one night, we were all able to forget all the controversies and all the horrible things that were said, and just went back 25 years in time to when we all still believed.
