10 Wrestling Rivals Who Seriously Can’t Stand Each Other

1. Bret Hart & Goldberg

Bret Hart never misses an opportunity to bury Goldberg.

Even in 2022, the legendary 'Hitman' will drop a shot at the man who effectively ended his pro wrestling career apropos of nothing. An understandable disdain for the former WCW monster exists within Hart that may never be quelled as no matter what an interviewer is questioning him on, you can safely bet the conversation will feature at least one takedown of Bill and his skills - or lack thereof.

The latest example of this came in March, when Bret shredded Goldberg while appraising Brock Lesnar:-

"I heard that I was his [Brock Lesnar] dream match. That was just a week ago I heard that. Always heard Brock was a good worker. I've never heard that [Lesnar was stiff in the ring]. Always heard just the opposite, that he looks stiff, but he's a real pro in the ring. Totally the opposite of Goldberg".

It was a wayward Goldberg boot that put Hart out of wrestling at Starrcade 1999. Struck down by multiple concussions that left him with post-concussion syndrome, Bret was forced to retire soon after - and has never held back on ripping into Goldberg since.

Bill's reputation as a clumsy, awkward worker didn't help matters, though Hart has previously claimed that he warned Goldberg against hurting him:-

“When I worked with Bill, I always think the last words I said to him before we went out and had that match where he injured me and ended my career. Bill, whatever you do out there, don’t hurt me. We can do whatever you want, we can do anything. Just do not go nuts.”

This, unfortunately, wasn't enough.
