10 Wrestling Rivals Who Seriously Can’t Stand Each Other

5. Becky Lynch & Charlotte

Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair's brand vs. brand bout at Survivor Series 2021 was informed by legitimate animosity when it became apparent the once strong bond between the two had eroded since their shared time in NXT.

Things blew up after a belt exchange segment planned for an episode of SmackDown. Fearing she would look weak in swapping her Raw Women's Title for Becky's SmackDown strap following that year's WWE Draft (understandable, given the criticism thrown at this practice), Flair went off-script in the angle, throwing the belt to the floor rather than handing it to Lynch. A backstage blow-up followed, with Charlotte reportedly asked to leave the building after things got hot between herself, Lynch, and Sonya Deville, who looked foolish as the segment's officiant.

Lynch was rueful ahead of Survivor Series. Telling combat sports journalist Ariel Helwani that she knew Flair was going to "purposefully disrespect" her in the exchange, she stressed the importance of needing to trust your opponent in wrestling, adding that she didn't know how their pay-per-view bout was going to go. Fortunately, it passed without issue.

The duo remain on separate brands, minimising their interactions. It's sad, however, that these former best friends have been reduced only to a frosty nod or "hello" whenever they cross paths now.
