8. Andre Lifts A Car...

Andre The Giant Car

Standing at around 7 foot tall (although usually billed as being 7,4€), Andre The Giant left an indelible impression on pro wrestling. He could drink 150+ beers, or an entire crate of wine, in one sitting - and he could eat up to 12 large steaks, or even 15 whole lobsters.

The original giant of wrestling was well known for being a passive, almost gentle type of guy. He could be moody and sullen at times, but, by all accounts, he wasn€™'t an especially violent man. However, when angered, Andre was nothing short of a force of nature. Why any man would try and test his luck against Andre is, quite frankly, beyond us, but from time to time, people (read: morons) did just that.

On one such occasion, four men decided to €˜prove themselves€™ by starting a fight with Andre. Once Andre (who was enjoying a quiet drink at the time) finally reacted to their provocation, the bullies turned tail and fled, but the riled-up Giant wasn€™t about to let it end there!

The four would-be attackers hid in their car, believing themselves to be safe from The Giant's wrath. However, Andre responded by literally picking the car up and turning it completely over, which probably ruined their day in a major way.

I am a professional author and lifelong comic books/pro wrestling fan. I also work as a journalist as well as writing comic books (I also draw), screenplays, stage plays, songs and prose fiction. I don't generally read or reply to comments here on What Culture (too many trolls!), but if you follow my Twitter (@heyquicksilver), I'll talk to you all day long! If you are interested in reading more of my stuff, you can find it on http://quicksilverstories.weebly.com/ (my personal site, which has other wrestling/comics/pop culture stuff on it). I also write for FLiCK http://www.flickonline.co.uk/flicktion, which is the best place to read my fiction work. Oh yeah - I'm about to become a Dad for the first time, so if my stuff seems more sentimental than usual - blame it on that! Finally, I sincerely appreciate every single read I get. So if you're reading this, thank you, you've made me feel like Shakespeare for a day! (see what I mean?) Latcho Drom, - CQ
