While the majority of the car crash liaisons detailed in this article are stories of good times gone bad, X-Pac and Chyna's rocky relationship seems to have been more of a motorway pile-up where the car was on fire to begin with.

From all reports, Chyna's issues with drugs and alcohol already existed when she left the WWF. When she began seeing X-Pac two years later, they had worsened: an addict himself, X-Pac couldn't bail Chyna out because he was in the same boat.

The couple fought, reconciled, broke up and got back together over a tumultuous four year relationship, becoming engaged more than once during that time, and even appearing together in a sex tape that appears to have been recorded specifically to market to the porn industry.

Both helpless in the face of their addictions and mental health issues, Chyna and X-Pac fought like cat and dog, culminating in her January 2005 arrest for allegedly beating him up in front of his children. Weeks later, she dramatically fell apart on television while taking part in celebrity housemate reality show The Surreal Life, confronted by X-Pac in a staged attempt at an intervention storyline that went pear-shaped.

Chyna would appear in professional porn a few years later as her life spiralled further out of control - she tried to reinvent herself in Japan, but couldn't stay clean or healthy. While X-Pac has quietly gone from strength to strength since his sobriety, Chyna slid further downhill, leading to her death in 2016 while still trying to resuscitate her career.
