6. WCW Botches Smoke & Mirrors (Of Course)

You'd think the Warrior would be well versed in the disappearing act, since he perfected it on average eight months into every one of his runs.

But trust WCW to make an absolute balls of it.

During the most abysmal storyline of 1998 - which, sadly for WCW, was the secret weapon it sought to wield against the runaway success that was Austin Vs. McMahon - the Ultimate Warrior unleashed war on the New World Order. In order to unsettle the stable, as part of a mind games campaign, he took to entering and exiting the ring through clouds of smoke. He was a supernatural guy now. He also used said smoke to recruit the Disciple to his 'One Warrior Nation' stable, a more accurate name for which was 'One Warrior And One Talentless Lackey Nation'.

During one such angle, WCW skimped on the smoke machine budget and, as evident in the image above, Warrior's sudden vanishing act was exposed as he simply exited the ring in a scene not helped by the fact that the nWo watched him go.

Ever the professional, Bret Hart feigned the requisite shock, though in fairness he could simply have been bemoaning his WCW career.
