4. Shawn Michaels Passes Out On Raw

Shawn Michaels Collapses on Raw 1995

In 1995, WWE actually managed to pull off a tricky worked-shoot injury angle with Shawn Michaels. Even then, Michaels's history of concussions was well documented, and during a Raw match with the dastardly Owen Hart, 'The King of Harts' hit HBK with an enzuigiri kick. Michaels seemed to shrug off the effects of the strike, but later in the bout, he collapsed in the center of the ring. Vince McMahon and Jerry Lawler left the broadcast booth to check on him, and fans cried as Raw ended.

Michaels was "diagnosed" as having post-concussion syndrome, a disorder where symptoms associated with concussions linger after the injuries are suffered. The Internet was in relative infancy, so not many fans were able to tell that it was all a work - and even those who were connected worried that the collapse may have had something to do with the real-life assault HBK had suffered by a single (not a group) Marine in Syracuse a month earlier.

Either way, Michaels returned a couple of months later to a hero's welcome, and to this day, some people still wonder whether or not he was actually hurt.
