Right before getting stuck into the rest of their match at AEW's Revolution pay-per-view, Darby Allin and Sammy Guevara met in the middle of the ring. One reached an arm high into the air, prompting the other to engage in a 'Test Of Strength' battle for natural, musclebound supremacy.

As if.

Timeless images from WrestleMania VI (where The Ultimate Warrior eyeballed Hulk Hogan's hand) will never fade from memory. That's all they are though - they're memories. Most wrestlers in 2020 don't begin their matches with a few shoves and a knuckle lock battle of sheer power. It'd feel old hat.

What was once expected of WWE's biggest matches is now passé. This might have something to do with the smaller physical stature of wrestlers overall, or it may be down to disinterest from fans in seeing wrestlers awkwardly struggle like characters from WWF Royal Rumble on the SNES.
