It seems that Haku had something of a penchant for getting into barroom brawls, with the general gist of many of the stories told about him usually starting off with somebody insulting him or insinuating wrestling was fake during an era where kayfabe was very much in force.

In an interview with Ted Dibiase, the Million Dollar Man spoke about a fight where he had been present to see Haku in action. In this case the Tongan was actually looking to break the fight up, rather than cause any damage. As Dibiase puts it:

Some of the guys got into a fight and Meng (Haku) got involved. He was just trying to help and in the process of trying to help, he gets maced by 4 cops and handcuffed. Now they handcuffed him behind his back and then he said 'Is this it?' …and snapped off the handcuffs!

Again we have a story about Haku absorbing mace like it was nothing, only this time the big finish is snapping a pair of handcuffs, which is another ridiculous display of power from a man who was hardly a bodybuilder or power lifter. You have to imagine that there were a couple of police officers with brown shorts after that little incident.
