7. Kane And Lita's Unborn Child - Death By Snitsky
In one of the worst storylines of 2004 (in fact it was the worst, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter) Kane began an obsession with Lita and blackmailed her into sleeping with him (WWE never used the "R" word and neither will I). The result of this demonic one night stand was Lita becoming impregnated with Kanes child.
Yes, this really happened.
Lita would sell the pregnancy for a few weeks until she got involved in Kanes match with the rookie Gene Snitsky. Demanding Lita get out of the ring, Kane turned his back on Snitsky, allowing him to grab a chair. He hit Kane with the chair, causing him to fall onto Lita, and as a result, she suffered a miscarriage.
It was all kinds of offensive, although it was probably the best case scenario. Had WWE continued the pregnancy angle ... well I don't want to imagine where that would have gone!
