10 Wrestling Tag Teams That Should Never Have Split

5. The Hollywood Blonds

Steve Austin still scratches his head when talking about the break up of The Hollywood Blonds in October, 1993. Via his podcast, the confused Austin once said that he couldn't comprehend why WCW's top brass would want to split Brian Pillman and himself, especially because they had only been put together as a team due to a lack of momentum individually.

Without much rhyme or reason, a union both men had made work for themselves fractured and led to nothing substantial for either as singles stars. That must have been incredibly frustrating; displaying a good level of chemistry during promos and inside the ring, The Blonds had turned their team from a random alliance into one of the hottest acts in WCW.

The creative team in charge of booking a program pitting Austin against Pillman didn't do the break up justice either, and their rivalry petered out quickly.

Obviously, Steve Austin went on to greater stardom in the WWF, but WCW failed to capitalise on his talent and he still feels that keeping him aligned with Pillman would have been the best thing for his career in the company.
