10 Wrestling Tag Teams That Should Never Have Split
4. The Hart Dynasty
There are numerous examples of tag-teams splitting because those calling the shots believed one member to have potential as a singles star. The Rockers, The Hart Foundation and The APA are all classic examples, although their success shouldn't be taken as a blueprint that will work 100% of the time.
The Hart Dynasty, a team made up of David Hart Smith and Tyson Kidd, should prove that.
WWE were high on Smith, likely viewing him as a performer who had more to offer than being part of a mid-card tag-team. Looking to split the team, the writers penned an angle which had the smaller Kidd refuse to tag in and eventually attack his partner; this didn't make much sense, because the team had only really been together on the main roster for just over a full year.
The break up was premature if anything, and it completely spoiled any and all momentum The Hart Dynasty had built up as popular babyfaces. It's criminal that less than two years into their run together on shows like Raw and SmackDown, the natural union between Smith and Kidd was destroyed.
