10 Wrestling Twitter Feuds You Need To Know About

Whatcha gonna do, brother, when the Hulkster direct messages YOU?

Professional wrestlers and Twitter. It's a potent mix. CM Punk and Hulk Hogan recently had some stern words for each other regarding the NHL Stanley Cup Finals. Hogan was hyping up the Tampa Bay Lightning, who play Punk's beloved Chicago Blackhawks. The Hulkster raised the ire of Punk by mispronouncing the names of Tampa's team captain and coach. The UFC fighter finished by telling Hogan that he will 'f***ing wreck' him. That's a pretty severe threat for the 36-year-old to dish out to the WWE Hall of Famer. Naturally, this exchange took place on Twitter, and not in some bar or locker room, as it might have done in some bygone era. The social media site is the de facto arena for professional wrestlers to engage in very real rivalries these days. It wasn't that long ago that wrestlers would only trash talk their peers in their autobiographies, in printed interviews or during shoot interviews. Nowadays, a wrestler can make his fellow professional his mortal enemy in 140 characters or less. Social media is a very powerful thing but it can be dangerous, too. In the wrong hands it can cause a lot of damage. Since Twitter has become popular in the last few years we have seen more and more current and former stars insult, accuse and argue with each other. It's not terribly professional behave but does (usually) make for an entertaining read.
