10 Wrestling Worst Nightmares Right Now

1. Yet More WWE Releases

Confirmed on the first quarterly investors call of 2021, 2020 was the most profitable year in WWE history. No longer can 2000's joyous creative be tied to income, nor 2018's transcendent in-ring work be reflected in receipts. The Mega Powers exploded in 1989 did they? Tough sh*t pal, their wallets while the rest of the world went to sh*t.

That rank and rotting carcass WWE called a year is now...the pinnacle.

Saving a fortune in running costs thanks to the Performance Center tapings necessitated by the onset of the pandemic, the company elected to go through a brutal round of mass releases in April to double down on all that filthy cash the McMahon family business would trouser as a result of a global health crisis. Here's hoping they aren't tempted by it to try and top their best ever figures in 2021.

Bills should increase with returns to arenas if and when they can (the ThunderDome itself proved a larger expense than first though) but talent should be the last to suffer from the WWE's freewheeling elasticity when things are reviewed in the post-WrestleMania reset.
