Finally Vince steps in to stop all this nonsense, getting in Bret's face and ordering him to take the action inside the ring. It's a little harsh, given the fact that Shawn started the pre-match brawl, and attempted to give Hart two piledrivers in the ensuing melee. JR and Lawler are noticeably reluctant to confirm Vince's standing in the company. King cries "what the hell is McMahon doing out here!?", and - after an awkward pause - JR explains that he runs the place. Was this merely an excuse to get Vince ringside? Bret certainly doesn't look happy to see the owner; perhaps his inclusion was never ran past the Hitman. In fairness, Bret rarely looks happy at the best of times, so he could have been fully aware for all we know.
