10 WWE & AEW Wrestlers Hurt The Most By The Empty Arena Era
6. Edge
When Edge made his return at the Royal Rumble 2020, the crowd tore the house down. It is one of the greatest pops that has ever been heard in a stadium. The emotion that the crowd feels towards this man is something that is only comparable to a pop from the Attitude Era.
It is tragic that Edge didn't get his first WrestleMania match in front of fans. Say what you will about his match with Randy Orton, it would have been vastly improved with a live crowd in attendance. Even their match at Backlash, which was already a stellar bout, would have changed dramatically with fans.
What makes Edge's Empty Arena run even more heart-breaking is the fact that he was plagued with an injury following the Randy Orton feud. Fans didn't even get the opportunity to see any of the dream matches we were promised during Edge's return promo. Fans will still have to wait to see Edge/Riddle or Edge/Styles. Hopefully, all these dream matches will take place in front of a full capacity crowd.
