10 WWE & AEW Wrestlers Hurt The Most By The Empty Arena Era
7. Hikaru Shida
The former AEW Women's World Champion started off strong in the Empty Arena Era of AEW. Hikaru Shida managed to defeat Nyla Rose for the championship at Double Or Nothing 2020 in a stellar match. However, she struggled to keep the momentum up throughout the entirety of her title run.
While her feuds weren't terrible, there wasn't anything that stood out. Her brief stint with Abadon showed promise, but that was a one and done. Similarly, her feud with Tay Conti had a lot of mileage in it, but that too was cut short after just one bout.
Maybe the issue stems from the fact that Shida felt like a background player to Britt Baker. Baker was having a terrific feud with Thunder Rosa while Shida was having stop/start feuds with other people in the women's division. Sadly, Hikaru Shida's reign felt more like a transition to Baker than it did a substantial run for herself.
