10 WWE & AEW Wrestlers Poised To Break Out In 2022
6. Anna Jay
Anna Jay's momentum in AEW has been a slow build. She began in the company coming up on the losing end; a natural introduction, albeit one we rarely see highlighted. However, she managed to score a championship opportunity in her first year with the company, but ultimately came up short against Hikaru Shida (AEW Dynamite #60). Her booking being intertwined with more experienced in-ring talent, both as a member of The Dark Order (with the late Brodie Lee's guidance) and in teaming with Tay Conti, has been great for her growth.
Anna Jay has been seriously impressive as of late. As a participant in the much talked about tag team Street Fight (AEW Rampage #22), she and Conti (the victors) came out bloodied, beaten, and with a newfound respect from the fandom. The clash came in the last days of 2021, but still managed to be one of the year's most talked about events.
Though she came to the company with little wrestling training and in-ring experience, Anna Jay is a homegrown AEW star who, with her continued improvement as an athlete and entertainer, could rival Britt Baker.
