10 WWE & AEW Wrestlers Set For A Big 2023

1. Cody Rhodes

After a few teases, we've finally got to it.

Who had Cody Rhodes leaving AEW and returning to WWE as a conquering hero on their 2022 bingo card? That's right, no one! This is why making predictions can be tricky, because this crazy world of wrestling that we all love gets stranger and stranger.

The return at WrestleMania 38 was a slam dunk. Presented as a megastar, Rhodes cemented himself as the main event concern he always thought he should be, and it's such a shame that injury curtailed the rest of 2022. His trilogy with Seth Rollins was fantastic, and through every beat of the story Cody looked like a true megastar.

To take one positive of his horrible injury, him battling through that pec tear at Hell in a Cell just solidified him as the babyface hero for WWE.

The current Bloodline story with Sami Zayn could derail plans, but surely, if he is fit (and let's face it, he'll do it even if he's not), the plan must be for the 'American Nightmare' to return in January and win the Royal Rumble. It would be an iconic moment.

Then, the proposition is mouth watering. The dominant 'Tribal Chief', from one of wrestling's dynasties, against the prodigal son, fighting for his father's legacy and to add the Rhodes name to the title lineage. Combined with the fact that Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes are two of the best professional wrestlers alive today, it should be amazing.

And Cody's victory will be the start of a year what should be his most successful year yet.
