10 WWE & AEW Wrestlers Who DESPERATELY Need A New Direction

8. Damage CTRL

Don't let the above picture fool you - 2022 was not a good year for Damage CTRL.

When Bayley returned alongside NXT stalwarts Dakota Kai and I̶o̶ S̶h̶i̶r̶a̶i̶ IYO SKY, the excitement was palpable. A locked-in Hall of Famer teaming up with two of WWE's best workhorses? (Hell, IYO can make a legitimate claim to being one of the best workers on the planet). What could possibly go wrong?

Cue Bianca Belair's music.

Ah, right.

Like Asuka, Damage CTRL found themselves in the unenviable position of propping up one of the company's chosen ones. Unlike Asuka, Damage CTRL doesn't have years of fan support and a laundry list of accomplishments to fall back on.

Five months on from their inception, Damage CTRL have already been rendered toothless through Belair's domination of the nascent faction. Yes, Kai and SKY are two-time tag team champions but Bayley's continual failure to best Bianca hugely diminished the group's credibility. Would Toxic Attraction have worked if the recently-released Mandy Rose routinely failed to capture the NXT Championship?

Damage CTRL needs to either win something of importance or break up. They may be less than half a year old, but they already feel more filler than a threat.
