10 WWE Angles Ripped Straight From The Movies

5. Matt Hardy's 'Woken' Compound (Mad Max)

This one is open to interpretation, but it's interesting.

When Matt Hardy revamped his successful 'Broken' gimmick and turned himself into a 'Woken' weirdo in 2018, he promised to dip Bray Wyatt in the 'Lake Of Reincarnation' at his compound. The whole compound thing actually conjured up images of 'Toecutter' from the Mad Max franchise.

Seek out some of his scenes from the movie and you'll see the same quirky accents Hardy used when Broken/Woken', and that's not all. 'Toecutter' also had a blonde streak through his hair, pulled outlandish facial expressions that hinted at madness and made bizarre requests to visitors.

A lot of Matt's feud with Bray seemed to borrow from the character's scenes in the movie. Hardy has never come out and named 'Toecutter' as a direct influence, but their almost-identical appearances, behaviour and the fact that both invite guests to indulge in their oddness would be too much of a coincidence.
