10 WWE Angles Wrestlers Wish They’d Turned Down

4. DDP Stalks The Undertaker’s Wife

So was this.

The WWF's bold plan for incoming WCW hero DDP was to make him a creepy stalker. Page outed himself as the guy who was secretly filming The Undertaker's then-wife Sara in 2001, and encouraged 'The Deadman' to make him famous by fighting back at King Of The Ring. The whole thing was a disaster from day one.

DDP told GiveMeSport that he wasn't the original stalker. Amazingly, that spot almost went to none other than Steve Austin; when 'Stone Cold' naturally knocked it back, the company thought Page would be an ideal substitute. In his own words, the positive yoga guru "hated it" just as much as Austin did.

He'd spurned the chance to sit and home and ride out a lucrative WCW/AOL/Time Warner contract. Page, to his own detriment, took a pay cut to try and get ahead of the curve by jumping ship and becoming a major player in the 'Invasion' angle.

That was a mistake.
