10 WWE Attitude Era Disasters That Even Jim Ross Couldn’t Get Over

8. 3 Minute Warning Interrupts HLA

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=505E8TzU7m8 3 Minute Warning was the tag team of Rosie and Jamal, lead by the newly hired Eric Bischoff, that occurred right at the tail end of the Attitude Era. They had a very Goldberg-ian element to them, bursting onto the scenes to cause a ruckus and promptly destroy fools. That gimmick itself was pretty cool. Right up until they almost murdered the hell out of two tiny women. Promising viewers some HLA--an acronym that we were all just supposed to know meant Hot Lesbian Action, apparently--Bischoff brought two attractive ladies to the ring (tastefully billed as "The Lesbians"), had them strip down to lingerie, and make out with each other. Classic Attitude Era stuff, right there. And then, for no apparent reason, he brought in Rosie and Jamal to beat the absolute hell out of these poor, defenseless girls. J.R.'s reaction sounds...off. Detached, even:
"Oh no, Bischoff set these two women up."
You can even tell that his "oh no" sounds canned, like maybe he wasn't paying attention to what was happening in the ring and just using Lawler for his cues. Like even he couldn't watch this horrible garbage. As one of them hoists a petite little thing in the air--looking to all the world like an actual rag doll--his multiple "Don't do it!" cries do sound pretty genuine, though. And frightening. And frightened. Because these women are being chucked around and flailing pretty heavily.
"Bischoff, what a perverse human being. He set these women up. He set us all up. These two women did not deserve this."
None of us did, J.R. None of us did.
