10 WWE Attitude Era Moments You Totally Don't Remember

8. Billy Gunn's Alternate Catchphrase

Billy Gunn gets a bad rap; mostly remembered for bombing in the role as a singles heel in 1999 to an almost unprecedented disastrous effect, his tag work was also overshadowed by the exploits of the TLC Three.

The New Age Outlawz worked precisely one good/memorable match - the wild Dumpster brawl at WrestleMania XIV - and they basically got over with a braying jock act that was fun for the 14 year-olds in 1998 before they turned 16 in 2000. But Gunn had a certain pop-worthy quality with his incredibly blunt promo game, and was really quite funny in general. It helps that Road Dogg was his partner, in that Road Dogg wasn't remotely funny.

Gunn had a plethora of catchphrases with which he entertained the crowd for about a year, but as is often the case in wrestling, he had to refine it.

"Oh, you didn't know? Your ass better call somebody!" was, in addition to an impassioned plea to get sucked dry, the Outlawz' most famous spot of crowd interaction - but it wasn't quite so iconic at first.

At first, Gunn said "Oh, you didn't know? You better recognise."

Presumably Road Dogg put a stop to this when pointing out that appropriating culture was his thing.
