10 WWE Backlash 2020 Impulse Reactions

5. Braun Strowman (c) Vs. The Miz & John Morrison

If the Raw Women's Championship match was low on industry and innovation from Vince McMahon's overworked minions, this was either forgotten about entirely or artlessly sh*t by design.

Offensively under-thought, the structure called for Miz and Morrison to tag in and out and stipulated that the winning fall would determine the champion. The former rule negated the advantage they desperately needed against Strowman before the latter predictably came between them when it (barely) counted.

Braun Strowman has all of one flaw in his game and that's running into steel posts. Why he would even bother remains a question WWE simply won't ever bother addressing, but even doing that wasn't as inane as the spot that called for Miz to break up Morrison's pinfall out of habit before backing off seconds later when the moment had passed.

Everybody's thick, again. Especially us, again. Strowman's still got his belt, but the tag titles he won alongside a child felt more prestigious than the blue piece of tin currently slung over his shoulder.
