10 WWE Big Men Who Were Surprisingly Good Wrestlers
3. Bam Bam Bigelow
Bam Bam Bigelow can’t match the resumés and track records of some of the wrestlers on this list.
He wrestled for a wide variety of companies around the globe throughout his time in the business, but he was never considered among the industry’s top stars, but this certainly wasn’t through a lack of skill. He wasn’t the tallest, but Bam Bam’s 390lbs made him a truly monstrous presence in WWE, ECW, and WCW, and he’s widely regarded as one of the best big men in the sport’s history.
Bigelow was ridiculously agile, and was able to performer moonsaults and cartwheels with the greatest of ease. While never a regular headlining act, Bam Bam did earn the dubious distinction of headlining WrestleMania XI with Lawrence Taylor, and always hovered around the upper-midcard of any promotion he worked for.
His only World Championship reign came in ECW, but Bam Bam was unlike anything wrestling fans had ever seen at the time, making him a must-see star around the world.
Bam Bam wasn’t just a basic big man who could fly, though. He was a truly groundbreaking wrestler for a man of his size, and as he got older, he learned the psychology required to chain his more spectacular moves together in a meaningful way. An intense, eye-catching performer, it’s a real shame WWE never made him the top-level heel he should’ve been.
