10 WWE Booking Steps To Make Big E A Megastar
7. It Isn't A New Day Anymore
Ever since they appeared as a group, the New Day has been a prominent faction in WWE, gaining in popularity over time before becoming the biggest natural babyfaces of the modern era. Big E has always been a big part of that success, but that ended with the Draft.
There is no harm in having Kofi and Woods support their best friend, and having them appear on each others TV shows as part of the Thunderdome crowd was a nice way to do this, but if Big e has any chance of making it on his own he must step out from the giant, unicorn-shaped shadow of his former stable.
Turning him heel isn't the answer. If ever there was a time to turn Big E, it was at WrestleMania 35 when Kofi challenged for the WWE Championship. Turning him now would only work if he was in a position to brutalise his brothers. Instead, WWE needs to distance him from the group all-together. Don't have them mix on PPV's, don't have them talk about each other on RAW and SmackDown. Make the split real. It will make the reunion all the sweeter when it finally happens.
