10 WWE Booking Steps To Make Kevin Owens The Top Guy

3. He Retires The Undertaker At WrestleMania

The streak might be done and dusted, but Undertaker is still a legendary WrestleMania performer, and as evidenced by his victory over Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania 31, and his return last summer/autumn, it seems like the Deadman isn't ready to hang up the boots just yet. Right now Undertaker's Wrestlemania 32 plans are very much up in the air. John Cena was rumoured as a potential foe, but he's now on the treatment table. Braun Strowman was another, but in the face of potential fan backlash that idea appears to have been scrapped too. Step forward Kevin Owens. After all, he'd not only work a potentially excellent programme with The Phenom, but he could cement his own legacy by actually winning the resulting contest and retiring Undertaker once and for all. While it would be a shame for 'Taker to lose twice on the grandest stage - and it's hard to imagine a 22-2 graphic appearing on the tron with his lifeless body staring up at the lights in the background - victory for Owens could catapult him right through the glass ceiling and he'd surely never look back. And just to reiterate: Owens shouldn't just beat the Undertaker; he should retire him. The Deadman has absolutely nothing left to prove, and at some point you have to say enough is enough. How many times can they keep dragging him out there every year until his body finally caves in? In all likelihood he doesn't have much time left. There's one last major contribution he could make to the business by this point, and that's by retiring himself against a talent that needs the rub and could potentially take the company forward as a result, and Owens has just as much right to lay claim to such an honour as anybody else.
