10 WWE Celebrity Cameos That Actually Ruled
1. Arnold Schwarzeneggar
What Happened: Perhaps one of the Attitude Era's most successful celebrity appearances, Arnie appeared on an episode of Smackdown in November 1999 to promote his so-so apocalyptic blockbuster, End Of Days (this was, of course, back when Smackdown was in its infancy and still being treated like a big deal).
Introduced simply as a “special guest” of the company and presented with an honorary WWE belt, the Austrian Oak decided to throw himself into the middle of Austin's ongoing feud with Triple H by handing the Rattlesnake a steel chair during that night's main event – a chair which was then duly used to knock the p*ss out of poor Hunter.
Hunter took offence. Arnie took Hunter out and started knocking the crap out of him. Fans went mental. It was a lovely time.
Why It Worked: Arnie is always going to get a strong reaction in an environment like WWE, but to see him actually get involved and lay some punches on a guy who was drawing some immense heel heat at the time (man, let's all take a moment to remember 99-00 Trips), was the stuff fanboy dreams are made of.
It set the foundation for a relationship between Arnie and the WWE that has reared its head ever since, from Arnie's induction into the WWE Hall Of Fame in 2013 to making an on-screen appearance as The Terminator at this year's WrestleMania.
We reckon he'll be back.
Sorry.
