10 WWE Celebrity Cameos That Actually Ruled
2. Pete Rose
769539What Happened: The Rock and Austin. Undertaker and Shawn Michaels. Kane and Pete Rose.
Yes, in one of the most bizarre and yet, somehow, longest-running on-off angles of the Attitude Era, baseball legend Pete Rose crossed paths with The Big Red Machine across three WrestleManias, getting his ass kicked every single time by a Devil's Favourite Demon who took a disliking to him...because...um...he really hated the Cincinnati Reds?
Anyway, Pete returned a few more times over the years, eventually getting inducted into the celeb wing of the WWE Hall Of Fame. His inductee? Kane, of course.
Why It Worked: There really is no logical reason why this utterly ludicrous pocket of WWE lore was pulled off so well, so we'll have to put it down to people just really hating Pete Rose.
In fairness, Pete played his part well and seemed to relish being the annoying, cocky celeb here to get his ass served to him, and it's testament to the angle's enduring legacy that it was briefly mentioned by Kane in the already legendary Team Hell No therapy sessions (shout out Dr. Shelby).
