10 WWE Champions Who Forfeited Their Title Due To Injury
4. John Cena
John Cena's mammoth 2007 WWE Championship reign - which lasted more than 12 months after he beat Edge at Unforgiven the previous year - was never going to end by anyone else's hand.
Neither Umaga, The Great Khali, nor punt-happy Randy Orton could topple The Champ. Instead, it was a pectoral injury that saw him vacate the title in the run-up to No Mercy (where 'The Legend Killer' - who was then awarded the belt by Vince McMahon just because - may have been penciled in for his second world title win anyway).
Cena, of course, was supposed to be out for at least six months, but returned in just four, surprising everyone as the number 30 entrant in the 2008 Royal Rumble. Say what you like, but he really is WWE's Superman.
