10 WWE Champions With The Worst Finishing Moves
4. The Miz - Skull Crushing Finale
Credit to The Miz, not just for becoming a mainstay of WWE television for a decade and a half, but for also becoming one of the most thunderously competent wrestlers in the world.
That may seem like a sly dig, but it really isn't. There is nothing wrong with being a solid hand, and whilst The Miz has rarely touched star ratings between the ropes, he knows his role to a tee and is one of the safest guys in the company. The reason he's been afforded such opportunities is probably down to his excellent mic work and his love of his workplace.
In a way, the Skull Crushing Finale is a reflection of him. It looks like it has little to no impact, but has become a surprisingly credible finisher in the eyes of the fans.
It's a shame that 'The Awesome One' has never upped his finisher game, beyond a disastrous adoption of the Figure Four as the move just screams of midcard medicority. The sort of finisher you'd be assigned at the beginning of your My Journey on a WWE game, which you would upgrade the second you got out of the development centre.
A finishing move should be that. A finisher. Not a move where you effectively trip up your opponent and fall forward with them.
