This is super-recent, but it still counts.

Wrestling fans and industry critics alike rolled their eyes when WWE announced that the popular NXT brand was changing to "NXT 2.0" in September 2021. That, not so coincidentally, was around the same time that Triple H took some time off to heal up from a heart scare.

Vince McMahon ditched the traditional black and gold look of the show, and even moved away from the successful 'best of the independents' vibe that Trips had developed for years. The then-boss replaced all of that with a garish colour-splashed aesthetic, and he decided to start booking the place like a raunchier version of FCW.

The nightmare is over. Triple H, free to make his own decisions now that Vince has retired, ditched 2.0 and returned NXT to its roots on 13 September. Fans relate to that style more than McMahon's colour scheme anyway, and it should win back some spotlight for a show most people have started ignoring.
