10 WWE Disasters Rescued With One Tiny Change
3. Batista Replaces Mark Jindrak
It's important to remember that Batista wasn't some mega-star when he replaced Mark Jindrak in Evolution towards the end of 2002. If anything, ex-WCW man Jindrak had more name value. He just...wasn't a great fit for the group, and that's obvious from even the earliest concept shots of the quartet together.
Triple H, Ric Flair and Randy Orton all look like they belong. Meanwhile, Jindrak looks like someone who just walked into shot and happened to be wearing a swish suit. Something had to change, because this wouldn't do. What good is a killer heel faction (one with main event ambitions) if one member is out of place?
Enter big Dave.
Batista's inclusion was a more natural fit for Evolution, and it stopped WWE from surely making the group a trio shortly after debuting it. Being honest, there was no way a disinterested Jindrak was going to work out alongside top stars like Trips or Flair.
