10 WWE Disasters That Became Life-Changing Moments

9. Becky Lynch Takes A Real Punch

Time has kinda washed away memories of WWE's plans in the immediate aftermath of SummerSlam 2018. Becky Lynch was supposed to the villain of the piece, and she blamed fans for her pay-per-view attack on old pal Charlotte Flair. That bombed, so Becks tweaked promos to put heat on WWE itself rather than the people.

Then, creative seemed to lose a bit of interest (as they do) and Lynch was mired in the traditionally-lame Raw vs. SmackDown guff heading into Survivor Series. An errant punch from Nia Jax during the usual mid-ring brand scuffle led to the iconic visual of a smiling and bloody Becky up in the stands.

'The Man' was properly born.

Grinning like the Cheshire Cat with a broken nose elevated Lynch overnight. She was able to sidestep WWE's internal apathy, birth a rebellious character which drew comparisons to 'Stone Cold', and ride the crest of that wave all the way to the main event of WrestleMania 35.
