10 WWE Divas Who Deserve More Recognition

3. Ivory

Ivory was once the backbone of the Women's division and carried it on her shoulders through the dark times of the late nineties, through to the heights of the early 2000s. Ivory got her start in the late eighties, competing for the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling. She left wrestling for five years in 1994, before signing with WWE and debuting as the manager of Mark Henry and D'Lo Brown. During this time, Ivory's opponents were less than stellar, and she did the best she could with the likes of Sable, Debra and Tori. In late '99, she was even defeated for her Women's Championship by the Fabulous Moolah, who was 76 at the time. In 2000, she returned as part of the heel faction Right To Censor, WWE's parody of the Parents Television Council, who were staunchly opposed to some of the Attitude Era's racier characters and storylines. Along with Steven Richards, Bull Buchanan and the "reformed" Val Venis and Goodfather, the Right To Censor would protest anything they deemed too hot for TV. Around this time, the quality of Ivory's oppenents improved, and she got to feud with the likes of Lita, Trish Stratus and Chyna. Ivory eventually settled into a trainer role, and was featured on the early seasons of Tough Enough. She left WWE in 2005, and has since been working in animal care. Whenever WWE or its fans get nostalgic over the "golden era" of women's wrestling, they have Ivory to thank for being its architect.
