When 'Mr. Perfect' Curt Hennig shocked the world by returning to the WWE at the Royal Rumble in 2002, he seemed in better shape than ever. His run would be tragically brief, coming to an end when Hennig was released following the infamous Plane Ride From Hell debacle (where and Lesnar had an aisle way tussle at 50,000 feet), and it soon became a much-discussed 'what could have been' scenario.

There were a number of men that Hennig faced off against once during his return to WWE, including Kane, Rob Van Dam and Big Show. The biggest name by far, however, was none other than Stone Cold Steve Austin, with the two going at it in a main event of Monday Night RAW in Providence, Rhode Island.

Austin won the match fairly convincingly, but a match between the two when they were both in their prime would have been a special, special thing indeed. Three months later, Perfect was gone from the company. His final opponent? Matt Hardy.
