10 WWE Elimination Chamber 2020 Impulse Reactions

9. Daniel Bryan Vs Drew Gulak

The Undertaker Elimination Chamber

Daniel Bryan is of course a gift to WWE, like this was new information. Here, his gift was one extended to Drew Gulak.

The Philadelphia native was given a hot hometown crowd and the opening match on the pay-per-view to make the most of this remarkable opportunity, along with a dance partner that probably had to graft just to get this match on the show.

Gulak's most recent gimmick adjustment has focused on him struggling with social situations but being hard as nails to compensate for it - something that figured wonderfully into an earthy match that saw Bryan constantly sell his opponent's physical and psychological gifts in a way that subtly suggested that he wasn't quite ready for. Even in applying his finisher for the win, he had to batter Gulak's face off first.

WhatCulture's Michael Sidgwick eloquently argued that he could be the one force already woven within the DNA of WWE that stood the chance of pulling the company from a terminal creative funk in the years to come. This delicious little match, in all its hybrid quality - was yet more evidence to suggest
