10 WWE Exits Which Seriously Affected Other Wrestlers
9. Dean Ambrose Leaves WWE (And The Shield) Behind
When Dean Ambrose announced he would be leaving WWE once his contract expired in April 2019, fans immediately started to ask two questions.
Was this a work?
If not, where would he go next?
We eventually found out the answer to both at AEW's Double or Nothing PPV a month later.
However, one question which wasn't as prevalent was what this meant for the other two members of the most popular WWE faction in recent memory?
What was once the flagship trio when it came to the majority of WWE's weekly scheduled programming, whether together or apart, is now one man short and the trump card of calling in the 'Hounds of Justice' is no longer an option when ratings hit the skids.
This now also means that both Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins don't have the safety net of coming together as a group should either start to be rejected by the fanbase (see The Shield return of 2017 designed to get Reigns over).
The Shield was once a tried and tested formula which could paper over whatever cracks WWE wanted to cover at that moment in time. Yet, those days are now long gone and all three members look set to spread their wings as singles stars for the foreseeable future.
