10 WWE Exits Which Seriously Affected Other Wrestlers
8. Roman Reigns Exits WrestleMania 36 Main Event (Braun Steps In)
This wasn't a moment that involved a star leaving the company behind for another or calling time on their wrestling career. But, it was still an exit from a serious main event spot which inadvertently set another performer up for the biggest moment of their career so far.
We're talking of course about Roman Reigns' decision to drop out of his Universal Championship match with Goldberg at this year's WrestleMania.
In the midst of an unprecedented global health crisis, 'The Big Dog' smartly decided to sit out the 36th Show of Shows in order to protect his family. This meant that Vince McMahon suddenly needed another contender to take the strap away from the part-time 'superhero'.
Finally pulling the trigger on a Braun Strowman World title win, a substitute 'Monster Among Men' incredibly found himself holding the blue belt after toppling 'Da Man' on Night One of 'Mania 36.
Though many felt this brief moment of joy would quickly be followed by Bray Wyatt reclaiming the gold, Strowman is still going strong as the blue brand's champ today.
Could Reigns eventually be the star to usurp Strowman in the end? Only time will tell.
