10 WWE Face/Heel Turns That Must Happen In 2021
7. Sami Zayn Turns Face
Sami Zayn has been exceptional since his return a few months ago. His Intercontinental Championship reign was a major highlight of Smackdown recently, he's gotten far more confident on the microphone and he's finally been given some credibility as a heel after years of being undermined by the bookers. He's done great and now that he's lost the Intercontinental Championship, it feels like time to turn him face for the first time in 4 years.
Zayn barely got to be the transcendent hero he was in NXT on the main roster. His early injury against John Cena was obviously a major blow but he delivered so exceptionally against Kevin Owens in 2016 that it seemed a future ascension up the card was inevitable. Unfortunately, it never turned out like that.
The heel turn was significantly effective and lead to moments of true greatness, but Zayn is a born babyface and could easily become the number one hero on Smackdown for years to come. He is so good at getting audiences behind him, with his sympathetic demeanour, incredible facial expressions and sadistic bumping being too mesmerising to deny. Hopefully, he'll be given the chance to excel as a face again in 2021.
