6. The Miz: Its Tough To Like A Jerk - 2012
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Udt3S48Pm60 The Miz got over as a heel character because Mike Mizanin is a bit of a jerk. America had already figured it out when he appeared on The Real World in his early 20s. As The Miz, Mizanin got to turn the volume up on his obnoxiousness, and it worked extremely well to the point where he became WWE Champion and headlined Wrestlemania 27. Later in the year, however, his career appeared to hit a plateau, and a change was in order. That change should have came at Wrestlemania 28, where he wasnt even being considered for Team Johnny, a group of heel midcarders. Rather than turn babyface and join Team Teddy, he convinced Johnny to pick him for the final spot. After taking a break to film The Marine 3, Miz came back and had a mediocre run with the Intercontinental Title, before turning babyface to join Mick Foleys team at Survivor Series, which seemed to be a case of too little, too late. While a babyface, Miz didnt really change his mannerisms, continuing to use his Really? Really? catchphrase. The crowd never bought it, and Miz had teased heel turns numerous times before WWE finally committed to turning him back heel this year.
