10 WWE Faces Who Were Actually Total Heels

2. The Rock

Chris Jericho Stephanie McMahon
WWE

The Rock is probably the most popular figure in professional wrestling history. He is without question the biggest mainstream crossover star that the sport has ever produced, and he still draws the loudest pop of the night whenever he appears today. In his heyday, Rocky was an incredibly sharp, witty entertainer whose heel act made him so popular that WWE were forced to turn him face, and he drew the kind of crowd reactions that today’s stars can only dream of.

He was also a complete and utter douchebag.

There’s nothing wrong with cheering for The Rock, but there’s no denying that while he might have been The People’s Champion, he was far from the nicest guy in the world. Rocky would regularly belittle staff members like Michael Cole, Jonathan Coachman, and particularly Kevin Kelly, and shamed countless WWE women over the years, including Stephanie McMahon herself.

The Rock was the most arrogant guy in the building, and never thought twice about savagely insulting anyone who crossed his path. As entertaining as his Rock Contests were, they were never much more than juvenile insult-fests, particularly the most recent examples. Even today Rock only ever seems to come back to shame Lana or bury Erick Rowan in less than ten seconds, and as much as he has entertained us over the year’s, The Rock’s wrestling character isn't exactly a positive role model.
