10 WWE Factions That Went From Awful To Awesome

1. The New Day

The New Day started innocently and inauspiciously enough. Due to a lack of creative direction and WWE television time, Xavier Woods, Kofi Kingston, and Big E pitched an idea to begin working as a faction. They almost didn’t make it to television, and when they did reviews were mostly negative.

The group debuted with a gospel gimmick that didn’t resonate with fans, and “New Day sucks!” chants were heard throughout their matches. This led to a heel turn and eventual shift in their gimmick to a wise-cracking comedy act. In response, fans started to chant “New Day rocks!”

The New Day also became a dominant tag team that won multiple titles and shattered the record for the longest WWE tag team title reign at 483 days. Unfortunately, it is looking like their run together is coming to a close. If it is, then the last chapter to this story will certainly be written at a future WWE Hall of Fame induction.
