10 WWE Factions That Went From Awful To Awesome

3. La Familia

On paper, La Familia looked like it shouldn’t have worked. It was a strange mix of talent that included Edge, Vickie Guerrero, Chavo Guerrero, The Edgeheads, Bam Neeley, and The Big Show. After some initial fan skepticism, the group developed a chemistry that produced great matches, stories, and comedy.

La Familia was also very successful in the ring while dominating both SmackDown and ECW. At one point, Edge was World Heavyweight Champion, and Chavo Guerrero was ECW Champion at the same time. The Edgeheads also captured the WWE tag team championship. However, it was outside the ropes where they really shined.

La Familia’s best attribute was probably their ability to make fans laugh despite being heels. Vickie Guerrero introduced her hilarious “Excuse me!” line during this time. Fans also ate up their soap opera cheesiness like Edge and Guerrero’s date vignettes and The Edgeheads in the role of the ultimate suck-ups.
